Gait Differences between Patients with Primary and Secondary Knee Osteoarthritis

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Knee osteoarthritis (OA) can be classified as primary (nontraumatic) or secondary (post-traumatic). Variations in radiological features exist between these knee OA classifications [1]. Differences in gait mechanics have not been investigated and this information may provide knowledge about the role of gait in OA initiation and progression. The purpose was to compare gait kinematics and kinetics between patients with primary and secondary knee OA.

متن کاملThe Effect of Knee Osteoarthritis on Excursions of Lower Limb Joints During Gait
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate excursion changes at the hip, knee, and ankle joints during gait in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) of varying severity. Methods: The method of research was causal-comparative (Ex Post Facto). A Vicon motion analysis system with 4 T-Series cameras was used to measure the kinematics variables. Fifteen normal subjects without KOA and thirty patien...

The purpose of current study was to investigate the spatio-temporal gait parameters and knee varus angle during walking at different speeds in young with knee varus. 18 subjects with varus deformity classified at grade 3 of bowleg and 17 healthy subjects, volunteered to participate in this study. The following variables include stance, swing, double support and cycle time, cadence, stride le...
